Bram you lost me about halfway and I took linear algebra in college. Who is your audience here?

Up to about the halfway point is mostly me explaining the geometric intuitions of what linear algebra actually means. I wish it weren't taught in such a dry, meaningless way. It's up there with trig as something which has beautiful meaning which is painstakingly avoided in class. Explaining it properly for a general audience would require making a nice video with animations and such and I unfortunately don't have the time or expertise for that.

Some of the reason for my doing these sorts of posts it is my internal process of pulling my thoughts together. Some of it is for feedback from the handful of people who might have a helpful suggestion on it. This is all still half-chewed and will become a more fleshed out story later. Software projects are weird because they often result in utility for exactly two people later, but those two people go on to install something on a million machines.
